A woman is not a woman without those in her life. Here are the women who inspire me because they are truly, authentically themselves. These women come from different backgrounds, generations, places and all bring something unique into the world. They all have their own struggles and joys, but have always been there for others. They love like Christ to truly make an impact on others.

Statement
I’ve always been fascinated with stained glass. As a child I used to put my hands up on the stained glass in my church, feeling the warmth from the sun on my hands. During this time of the pandemic, the idea of a sacred space transitioned from a particular building- to my home itself. The materials I used to make this body of work are colorful, transparent, and allow for magical feeling when light shines through the work and reflects on another surface. These physical works transformed my home into a sacred place where light and warmth meet. This place captures the time of transition that I am going through in my individual life and journey as a woman. I’m figuring out my new role as a woman, living on my own, being married and about to graduate from college. I believe work is best made and experienced when someone can relate to it through stories, and that’s why I wanted to capture my own and others.
